Enta has no password. Two different things secure your account, and it’s worth knowing which does what — because only one of them is what you use day to day.
When you sign up, Enta sends a one-tap link to the email address you entered. Opening it proves the address belongs to you. That’s the whole job it does: it confirms your email at the point you create the account. You’ll also see this link if you ever need to recover your account — see Passkey Recovery.

Your passkey — from then on

Sign-up continues into Secure your wallet, where you register a passkey on the device you’re using. From that point on, your passkey is what you use to:
  • Sign in to Enta
  • Authorize every transaction you make
A passkey is a key held in your device’s own security hardware and unlocked with your face, fingerprint or device PIN. You never see it, you can’t copy it, and it can’t be typed into a fake website — which is why there’s no password to steal and no authenticator app to install.
Because the passkey lives on your device rather than on our servers, only you can approve a payment. See Passkey & Devices for where yours is stored and which devices are signed in.

If you lose the device holding it

You create a new passkey and prove it’s you with two separate email codes — your account email and your recovery email. Full walkthrough: Passkey Recovery.
Account recovery carries a mandatory 72-hour wait, and it can’t be shortened or waived. You’re notified as soon as a request is made and can cancel it from anywhere you’re still signed in, so nobody can quietly take your account over. The way to avoid the wait is to have a second way in before you need it — a device you’re still signed in on, or a passkey that syncs through your password manager.

There’s no 2FA to switch on

There’s no authenticator app and no SMS code to set up. Your passkey already requires your biometrics on your own device, which is what a second factor is for. If you’ve seen older guidance about setting up an authenticator app, it no longer applies.
