# UBO KYC

> The two verification tiers for a business account - what each one checks, and what it unlocks.

# UBO KYC

Business verification happens in two tiers. Tier 1 verifies the **people**. Tier 2 verifies the **company**. They unlock different things, and you can trade crypto between them.

## Tier 1 — verifying the people

Every declared owner verifies their own identity: profile details, address, then a selfie matched against a government ID. The controlling owner also creates a passkey and sets up a recovery method.

Once the controlling owner finishes, the crypto wallet goes live — **"Your crypto wallet is live"** — *"Send, receive and swap across major networks."*

At this point you can hold, send, receive and swap crypto. You cannot yet move between crypto and cash.

## Tier 2 — verifying the company

Five steps of company detail plus four documents. This is what regulators require before a business can touch fiat, and the copy is explicit about why: *"We need these to verify your business with regulators."*

Completing it unlocks **"Unlock currency-enabled transactions"** — *"Convert from EUR, GBP, NGN and more to crypto and back, then cash out to a local bank account."*

## Which one do I need?

<Tip>
  You don't have to do them back to back. Tier 1 gets a working wallet quickly, and Tier 2 can follow when you've gathered your incorporation documents — the home screen keeps a **"Continue where you left off"** card so you can pick it up later.

  A delegate can fill in company details and upload documents, but cannot verify identity on anyone's behalf. Tier 1 always needs the actual owners.
